Alesha Dixon lights up London for Variety Club Gold Hearts
27th January 2010
Alesha Dixon lit up the London skyline this evening by unveiling a 70ft-high projection on Battersea Power Station to launch the 2010 Variety Club Gold Hearts Appeal.
For over 60 years Variety Club Children's Charity has been helping sick, disabled and disadvantaged children throughout the UK.
The Variety Club has an illustrious history stretching back to the golden age of British entertainment. The charity has raised over £200 million in the last 6 decades and improved the lives of more than a million young people.
We give freedom, independence and hope through Sunshine Coaches, Easy Riders electric wheelchairs, outings to exciting places, equipping children's hospitals and helping in many other ways. This is made possible because volunteers from many walks of life give generously of their time and money, supported by a galaxy of celebrities from showbusiness and sport.
We concentrate on giving help where help is needed, and being the small change which makes a huge difference to the lives of children and young people across the country. Please explore the site to see more details of the work which we do and how you can help us to turn lives around.
