Easy Riders Wheelchairs

Our Easy Riders Wheelchairs Programme, which last year celebrated its 21st anniversary, is one of the most successful programmes of its kind, anywhere in the world. To date, the scheme has helped to fund over 3,600 manual and powered wheelchairs, sports wheelchairs, bikes, trikes and buggies, every one specially adapted to its young user.

For a growing child with complex and constantly changing needs, a comfortable wheelchair that fits both their body and their lifestyle can genuinely transform their life. But these are complex and expensive pieces of equipment, and many families face long waiting lists for even a basic wheelchair when they apply through conventional NHS routes. The Easy Riders team works with families and their medical teams to make sure the right equipment goes where it will make the most difference.
