The Variety Club is also very happy to be able to provide the practical solutions which can make all the difference for parents in caring for their children. For example Callum is a 6 year old who has severe autism and associated learning disorders. This does not stop Callum from being an extremely active and lively child who enjoys the outdoors. His parents regularly take him in the car to all manner of outdoor activities. In order to do this in a way that is safe and comfortable for Callum a special car seat is needed.

Variety recently funded £424 to provide just such a seat to Callum and his family. This seat allows Callum to be taken in and out of the car with much greater ease and gives better postural support to ensure that Callum is as secure as possible. Callum’s parents recently wrote to Variety to say thank you for the donation;

“Thank you very much for the help in getting a car seat for Callum.  He is very happy and now safe in the back of the car.”
