The Variety Club recycling appeal
The Variety Club Recycling Schemes collect shoes, mobile phones, printer cartridges and toners to raise funds and help the environment.
Why do it?
- To help the Variety Club in its work with sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and young people
- To help conserve the world's resources and reduce the amount of rubbish sent to landfill
- To help poor people across the globe and provide them with affordable solutions
Shoe recycling
Did you know that ...
Each and every year in the United Kingdom over 330 million pairs of new shoes are bought?
When they grow out of fashion or out of favour with their owners they will be thrown away.
The materials used in making shoes are not normally biodegradable and our rubbish dumps are rapidly running out of space.
Shoe recycling helps to provide a sustainable solution to this problem.
Mobile Phone, Inket and Toner Recycling
Did you know that?
Each discarded cell phone can pollute up to 132,000 liters of water?
It takes a century for a cartridge to decompose?
With over 80 million redundant mobile phones in the UK currently and 30 million cartridges dumped into UK landfill sites there has never been a better time to start recycling.
At office or at home do your bit for charity and the environment now.
