Variety Club North's Tim Healy & Denise Welch Tribute

The stars of the North East were out in force to celebrate the careers of two of Britain's best loved personalities - Tim Healy and Denise Welch. The event which was held in the Newcastle Civic Centre raised over £70,000 for the children and young people which Variety Club North supports.

Tim and Denise received the coveted Variety Club Silver Heart in recognition of their work across the Entertainment industry. The tribute was compered by North East Tonight presenter Mike Neville and featured a long list of celebrity guests. Personalities such as Sir Bobby Robson, Jane McDonald, Bobby Pattinson and Peter Beardsley were all there to make sure the event went off with a bang.

After a four course lunch, speeches, a standing ovation and auction many of the celebrity guests were lucky enough to present a Sunshine Coach to children and teachers of Cedars School
