Calling All Talented Young Performers

Variety - the Children's charity, is on an X-Factor style search to find Scotland's most talented young performers.

They are being invited to audition for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to perform in Variety's fundraising show at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

The charity, which helps sick, disabled and disadvantaged children, is looking for acts to headline at the ‘Young Variety' spectacular on Sunday 29 April.

Producer Angus Simpson said, "We want the show to feature the brightest and the best of the country's young talent. It's a chance to showcase what they can do, while raising money to help less fortunate young people across Scotland.

"We want to hear from singers, dancers, bands, choirs, comics, musicians and magicians. If they're young and they're talented, we want to see them."
The Young Variety production team are holding auditions in Glasgow, on Saturdays 21 January and 28 January and anyone aged 6 to 21 is invited along. Details and application forms are at www.varietyclub.org.uk/regions/scotland

Previous ‘Young Variety' shows at the Clyde Auditorium and King's Theatre have delighted sell-out audiences, given hundreds of young people the chance to perform on world-class stages, and raised thousands of pounds for the charity work of Variety.

Performers in last year's show have gone on to even greater things - winning performance prizes, appearing in a production of ‘Les Miserables' and headlining in the Pavilion Theatre pantomime. Edinburgh teenager Jack Robertson appeared with Britain's queen of soul Beverley Knight last summer.

"There is so much outstanding talent among the youth of Scotland," said Angus. "We just want to give them a chance to show off their talents and help less fortunate children at the same time."
