Variety Club Children's Charity Is A Toner Doner For Exposure
06th June 2008
The Variety Club Children’s Charity has made a donation of a year’s supply of printer cartridges to Exposure Organisation Ltd.
Based in Haringey in north London, Exposure is a charity which enables children and young people from all backgrounds, including disadvantaged groups and those from areas of deprivation, to participate and achieve their fullest potential in the media.
Exposure publishes the free Exposure youth magazine, the free companion children's magazine Junior Exposure and undertakes other publishing, video production, advertising, design and internet activities.
Variety Club’s Chief Barker, Norman Kaphan said:
“The Variety Club is a charity made up of supporters from the sporting, creative and showbiz industries and it is only right that we support and encourage young people to harness their creativity and equip themselves with the skills for both their enjoyment and future chosen careers.”
Gabrielle Asare, aged 15, and a volunteer on the project said:
“I've achieved a lot of things during my time at Exposure. I've produced my own articles and one of them is definitely going to be published in Exposure magazine. My English and writing skills have also improved with help from David who taught me how to edit my work. I would like to be a journalist when I grow up.”
Exposure Spokesperson said:
“We're very grateful for the support we receive from the Variety Club, which enables us to purchase much needed equipment to enable us to develop and sustain our work. It's a boost for the young people themselves, to know their efforts and commitment are appreciated and supported.”
Working in partnership with London Youth, The Variety Club believes that a key way of helping disadvantaged youngsters develop and have access to opportunities is through supporting the youth clubs that help them - particularly in inner city areas. Variety Club is encouraging any individuals or organisations working with young people to please contact Variety Club on 020 7428 8100 or email appeals@varietyclub.org.uk.
