Welcome to variety club north-west
Based in the city of Manchester, this region works with many of the largest companies in the North-West to raise money for children.
Formerly the Manchester Committee, it was formed in 1960 and has since expanded as far as Penrith in the north to Stoke-on-Trent in the south, covering most of Lancashire and Cheshire.
Since its founding the committee has presented about 400 Sunshine Coaches, to recipients including the Gilford Centre Cumbria; Middlehurst School Stoke-on-Trent and the Michael Elliott Trust in Derbyshire. Companies like Vimto and Millie's Cookies have teamed up with Variety to create innovative fundraising schemes through products.
The region answers major appeals across the whole range of child welfare needs, and has a very active Variety at Work committee, which entertains thousands of children every year.
