Midlands

The Variety Club's Midland region is a vast area stretching over 10 counties, from the Welsh border to The Wash on the east coast and from Derbyshire in the north to Gloucestershire as its southern tip.

Although the majority of the organised events are, due the sheer scale of the region, centred around Birmingham the investigation of appeals takes members of the dedicated appeals committee to the furthest reaches of our bailiwick.

Variety Club Midlands has presented some 49 coaches worth more than £1,250,000 over the past five years - nine of them in the past year. And there have also been the wheelchairs, special car seats, beds and bedding and medical equipment to be funded.

Apart from the fund raising activities by the small hard working general committee, ranging across the Midlands Business Awards, sedan chair races and tribute functions, there are also the times, through our Variety at Work activities, when we get to meet en masse the children we are here to help.
